GENERAL APPEARANCE
Keeping physical/genetic descriptions short and sweet.... (because who wants to listen to those anyway?) Skip has light skin, could be darker if he went outside occasionally; however, due to his lack of sunlight and extracurricular activity, his skin is rather soft. Not baby soft, of course, but it definitely has a texture he could brag about if he liked. Anyway, along with the enviable soft skin, he's also built small. Tiny family, I'm afraid. 5'5" and very skinny. Actually, calling him skinny is an understatement. More like emaciated, weighing in, on average, at about one hundred pounds or so. You want the backstory, I would suggest against asking him face to face. PTSD's a bitch. Moving up along the kid, he has very expressive hazel eyes. They're one of the only ways you can tell he's lying. His natural hair is reddish-brown in color and it's chopped to shit. I'm talking layers galore. It might come off like a pro did it, but no, he cut it himself and has been doing so since he entered high school. You might wonder how he could dye such a pretty russet color black all the time, and it's a simple answer: it's the same color as his father's hair. Still wonder why? We'll get to that later. Next up: clothes, clothes, clothes.
You'd probably think he dresses girly, with reason. A supposed "morally bad upbringing" by a schizophrenic mother made the boy grow up a tad bit feminine. Honestly. The kid looks, acts, and dresses like a girl. Almost depressing. ANYWAY, when shopping for clothes, the kid usually ends up finding himself in the girl's department. Girl's jeans (flares, not skinny because skinny jeans are "not comfy enough"). Size fives because this bitch is scrawny. Actually, emaciated is more of the term. (You want the backstory, I would suggest against asking him to tell him yourself. Could bring on an onset of PTSD.) The kid draws on his pants with Sharpies, mainly because he's bored
Moving on, for shirts, the kid has a childish taste... or it could be because most of the clothes he has are hand-me-downs from his therapist's daughter. (is that even legal?) The few shirts that are actually his range from anywhere from neon orange Charmander shirts (any breed of pokemon is fair game, really) and a Neopets shirt. Has a JubJub on it; it's white. His favorite shirt, above all, is the white t-shirt with the Starbucks logo on it. It may seem like a random shirt the kid picked up online, but no. Skip practically lives off coffee. It'll probably be one of the few things you'll see him ingest. Basically, expect really flamboyant, oh-my-God-you're-either-gay-or-on-crack-cocaine kind of shirts from him. Also, his arms are always covered. It's a mandatory precaution, for both his mental and emotional status. What's on his forearms, no one but his psychiatrist and himself knows. They're always covered up with arm warmers (multi-colored starred ones are his favorite) or rubber bracelets.
PERSONALITY
- GOOD -- From the people that know him best, Skip is probably the nicest person you'll ever meet. He's sweet and selfless, to the point of a fault, if you can imagine. He tries his best to please the people he loves the most.
- BAD -- Skip tries so hard to please "the people he loves the most" that he tends to make bad decisions, of which the biggest happens to be listening to the people he loves. For example, his best friend, Chavelle, constantly takes him out to places where she knows there will be alcohol. With Chev being the person he feels closest to (and is closest to), he falls victim to peer pressure quite easily. This susceptability applies to all friends, new or old, though with new friends, Skip does occassionally draw lines. Occasionally. He doesn't drink for everyone, you know.
- GOOD -- On a normal basis, Skip is a happy kid. It appears to be the only emotion he can properly convey except for surprise or the occasional, er, mischief. Hyper moods are common, usually induced by coffee. Anger is, apparently, nonexistant.
- BAD -- With this constant display of pep to his friends, it is difficult for others to read the fact that he is, in fact, not happy. He's had years of practice; the kid can hide his emotions pretty well, and with a case of depression and a record of deciding to go off his meds, this is not the best of traits for him to have.
- BAD -- Anger is not nonexistant in the boy. He gets angry like everyone else. It is the way he chooses to deal with it that causes problems. He keeps the anger inside, bottling it up and then eventually, somehow, turning it on himself. He makes it seem like it was his fault for getting angry in the first place, which usually leads to sadness. And he tells no one about this, due to the fact that he would rather have them not worry about his problems. It could make them worry in turn, you see. His counselor has been working on this problem since the child's induction to the program, but we can all see how successful therapy is.
- GOOD -- Although shy, Skip is a very accepting individual. As long as the person in question is not intimidatingly large or "gothic" (he seems to have a problem with them), the boy will get along with them just fine. He may not talk much in the beginning, but friendships are quickly made.
- BAD -- Along with this accepting nature comes Skip's trust issues. These are not the usual case of not being able to trust anyone. Rather, Skip tends to trust everyone, and very quickly at that. His belief in the good in others rather than their true nature is what lands in him trouble. One such example: his short "relationship" with Wes Hassle.
- GOOD -- Saving the best for last, Skip is an affectionate little boy. When he really likes a person, he likes to let them know it. Hugs are the most common display of affection, though he hands out compliments as he goes. You could say he's the kind of gay every girl wants as a best friend. As for other-than-friend relationships, Skip tends to rush things into physical measures. Not that he means to. Though cute and all, you have to remember that he is a sixteen-year-old boy, even if his gender does get confused a good bit.

HISTORY
Skip grew up in New York City. His family wasn't the richest, or the most normal. His mother was a diagnosed schizophrenic, his father a supposedly sober alcoholic (makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?) His mother was not allowed to work due to her mental disorder and Jeremi Fell lacked any particular skills or a degree that would finance the family well. As luck would have it, Cindy's parents would help them with the rent for the place so their grandchild could have a roof over
Well, they lived an okay lifestyle for a while, anyway.
Primary school, intermediate school, and then middle school... up and up went young Toby along the educational ladder. It wasn't always easy for him, not being the smartest of all children, but his mother was encouraging and helped him along the way.. when she was on her Geodon, that is. And the boy was thankful for the help he got, even though he regretted going home to see his mother half of the time and the schizophrenia the other half. One day, she would be warm and welcoming, hug him and ask him about his day, the next she would be spitting about filth and conspiracies and speaking of how they would be getting money in the mail from an admirer of hers, Donald Trump. Of course, that money never came, and Toby's father had to work day-in and day-out, it seemed to the boy. The only "sane" person in the house besides himself was never there... and that was how the young boy came to writing.
It wasn't paid writing, mind you, and he never would have been able to pen a novel in middle school, but it did keep him out of the house for a few more hours. The school newspaper, you see, had meetings, everyday, afterschool, from three to five. The students were supposed to spend that time writing about current and upcoming events at the school, but it seemed that Toby was the only one who did. He didn't make many friends sitting at a table writing about the eighth grade dance on April 15th. But, once again, it got him away from his psychotic mother (who he still loved very much but didn't want to deal with her problem) for just a few more hours. And this newspaper business did have its perks. There just happened to be a rather attractive boy, a boy named Nathan Hewett. Toby found himself distracted from his current story
High school. The boy actually made it to high school. In most children's lives, high school is probably the favorite of academic places... but not Toby. Pardon the French, but high school was where the shit hit the fan. His father lost his job, temporarily, though the next he found was not so pleasant. A slaughterhouse, slitting piggies' throats and cleaning up the mess afterward. A manlier man would have taken pride in this job, or at least not show such weakness as to revert to illegal pasttimes, but Jeremi Fell was no such man. He reverted back to drinking the early fall of 2007. And this was not simply drinking to get 'a little bit tipsy.' Straight vodka from the bottle, down two or more a day. The family almost went completely bankrupt during the beginning, to the point where Toby himself almost had to find work somewhere. But, once again, the grandparents came to the rescue and had the father going to AA meetings. It worked. For a while.
Despite all this, young Toby found his heart all a-flutter. His pretty boy, that Nathan Hewett, had managed to be scheduled in three of four of Toby's classes. And the two ended up being paired together for a Biology project. Heh, let's just say, given a few months' time, the two worked on more than Biology projects, if you catch the drift. Their relationship was hidden, of course, the two of them fearing the opinion of both their peers and parents, moreso (surprisingly) Nathan than Toby. And it was with this relationship that our lovely boy acquired the name he goes by today. Skip, starting out as a pet name, became the boy's alias, a name he used to escape from the abnormalty at home and truly be himself. Toby was Skip, Nathan was Cookies, and the two (most-likely-or-maybe-not) wouldn't have had it any other way.
All was well, all was well, all was well until January of that very same year. Jeremi Fell returned from rehab. He was sober for
COUNSELING SESSION NOTES 03/18/08
AVENEL O'DARCY
The boy, fifteen years of age, has been through a traumatic ordeal, I'm sure. Psychologically scarring, or worse. I have been his counselor for two years and it was only today that he told me why he has done the things he has to himself over the years. Swallowing pills, starving himself to the point where an IV must be administered, going weeks without speaking to a soul -- suicidal and the occasional asocial tendencies, I am sure his mind has been warped in some way. By his own doing or by the perpetrator, I am not sure. Perhaps both. [Still under observation]
On the date of January 18th, 2008, supposedly, the patient was sitting in the house living room with a friend [no description of relationship given]. The father arrived sometime between 10:00am and noon, intoxicated. After quite a bit of coaxing, the patient reported that the father ushered his friend out of the house. When the two were alone, it was told that the patient was forced down the stairs leading to the basement. [Due to the injuries the patient sustained while in the hospital after the discovery of him, violence is suspected, though no thorough description.] It was there the father kept him for 'a long time.' Medical records show that the boy must have been in the cellar for at least two weeks while being given minimal nutrition. Semen was also found, on the boy and his clothing. DNA from semen was linked to the patient's father. The patient gave no further description of what occured in the basement. He spent a recorded two months in a rehabilitation center, a month of which he spent alone due to mental instability and asocialibility.
